This popular saying that, “Work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” is something we all understand. For most of us, it is more than just a saying—it has become our reality. Not long ago, Play Stations were here and then came the laptops that we got so addicted to. Before we knew what was happening, we had turned into couch potatoes. We spent more time indoors playing video games instead of playing with friends outside. All children are entitled to the right to play. However, some do not know this because they are always hooked onto television and computers. Yes, some programmes are great for kids, but it is very important that you play physical games too. There is more to playing outside than just getting dirty. The playground is where children learn the best lessons in life as they imagine and test different activities. There are so many games that children like such as; softball, cricket, football, hide and seek, basketball, badminton among others. So next time you start playing a game, think of it not just as a fun activity but also as a tool that helps you to tap into your inner creativity. Play and stay healthy and as you do so, enjoy yourself because creating your own fun is part of healthy growing.
