The King of romantic movies switches roles and holds his own as a sleazy defense attorney who has a crisis of conscience when he represents a wealthy client who has a foolproof plan to beat the system. The movie stars Ryan Phillippe and Marissa Tomei. Great movie. Book of the week – American Dervish by Ayad AkhtarWhen Mina comes to live with Hyat and his mother and father, Muslims living in a pre-9/11 America, Hyat is immediately in love. After all, this woman has changed his chilly family into a happy one, melting even his father’s tough exterior. But when Mina begins dating someone, Hyat is thrust into emotions outside of his control, and threatens to bring his new world -- and hers -- crashing down around their shoulders. The book is a fine contemporary coming-of-age story.Song of the week – The one that got away by Katy PerryPersonally, I am not a Katy Perry fan but there is just something about this song that makes you want to hum it all day long. Written by Katy Perry, Max Martin and Dr Luke, the song is included in the album Teenage Dream. It serves as the 6th and final single off the album. It’s a mid-tempo pop ballad about the bittersweet story of a lost love. The single reached the top of Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs, Adult Top 40 chart, Mainstream Top 40 chart, more than any other album in the chart’s history.
