Editor,Allow me to respond to an article by Arthur Asiimwe titled “Do we really value what we have?” More often than not, Rwandans take for granted vital services that government provides to them out of straining and our meager resources.One ought to be appreciative of what the government does because there are lots of countries with far bigger economies and more resources than Rwanda’s, but do not come close to Rwanda in caring for their citizens.Denis NkundaKigali Editor,Arthur Asiimwe, thanks for sharing those important insights, and more importantly, the moral of the story. May I also suggest that instead of the Health Care Institutions wasting their valuable time by going after the bad apples that default, there should be some guarantees of payment prior to providing services.I am a beneficiary of a health insurance scheme, but on the other hand, I also play a part in the provision of health coverage to the needy whose bills are catered for by government, 100 percent. Why can’t we promote the idea of having Agaciro in paying taxes on goods and services up to the local cashiers? With the money generated, no one would sweat to have medical coverage.
