Rwanda U-17 women’s national handball team on Monday left for Dar es Salaam ahead of the forthcoming Zone 5 women's youth and junior tournament of the IHF Trophy Africa which kicks off Tuesday April 25. The weeklong regional handball tournament, which serves as a qualification event for the continental phase of the Women’s IHF Trophy Africa. A 14-woman squad, led by head coach by Anaclet Bagirishya, has been camping at Centre d’Acceuil Sainte Scholastique de Sovu in Huye District undergoing daily training sessions since April 14. The tournament will attract eight countries namely Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, and hosts Tanzania. Rwanda has been drawn in Group A alongside Tanzania, Djibouti and South Sudan. According to the schedule, Rwanda will play their first match against Djibouti on April 25, before facing South Sudan in the second match on April 26. T They will wind up the qualifying campaign with game against hosts Tanzania on April 27.
