National league fixture TODAY APR v Kibuye Military v Electrogaz Kiyovu v AS Kigali Mukura v Marines SUNDAY Rayon v Police Etincelles v Atraco APR’s new coach Rene Feller will be making his national football league debut today when his side take on Kibuye in the second leg of the national football league game at Nyamirambo stadium. Feller who was not in charge of the military side in their last fixture where they hammered Electrogaz 5-0, is expected to be on the bench with his assistant Eric Paske and Jean David Mukesa. The dutch coach joined the league champions, just five months after being appointed national coach of Eritrea. Feller takes over as coach at the army side as they seek to retain their championship title, leading the league standings. Feller’s tenure with Eritrea lasted just three months, his job cut short when the Red Sea state withdrew from the 2010 World Cup qualifiers last month. Feller must win today’s game if he is to keep his trust and gain confidence from his bosses who have been trying for years to put their house in order before the assault on regional and continental championships. The military side goes into today’s game without the influential brothers, Mbuyu and Kabange Twite who are stuck in their native Democratic Republic of Congo. The nine time national champions will also be missing the services of no-nonsense central defender Aloua Gaseruka who is serving a suspension due to accumulated yellow cards. APR hunting for a tenth league title leads the league table with 36 points from 14 league fixtures played. Giant-killers, Kibuye go into today’s game minus Joseph Muhire who is serving suspension. A win for APR today will keep them three points adrift of Atraco who don’t play until Sunday when they travel to Gisenyi to take on second division bound Etincelles. In today’s other fixtures Electrogaz face Military at Kanombe grounds, Kiyovu battles AS Kigali at Mumena grounds while Mukura hosts Marines at Huye grounds. On Sunday Rayon will host Police at Nyamirambo stadium. In a related development, former APR and Amavubi Stars defender Abdul Sibomana has been appointed as the club’s Secretary General with immediate effect. Sibomana who retired from international football last year has replaced Maj. Alex Sabiiti.
