AFTER a bad spell, Amavubi have undergone a renaissance under new coach Milutin Micho and I wouldn’t be surprised if the so called small stadium ‘Kigali Regional Stadium’ like the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) preferred to refer to it, is filled to capacity this Wednesday.Some Amavubi fans, however, still have the Ivory Coast horror fresh in their mind. The 5-0 drubbing at Amahoro stadium was a game many would want to be erased from football statistics.But we should not forget that that was under Sellas Tetteh’s reign. With Micho behind the wheel, there is reason to be hopeful and my message to the fans is to believe in the team.So far, Micho has handled ten matches winning seven, drawing two and losing just one. This record tells you everything you need to know about the man; ‘footballing brain, great tactician and blossoming with experience.’No wonder he edged Ratomir Dujkovic, current Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi, Patrice Neveu and Branko Smiljanic to the job.‘Well done Ferwafa’He is by far one of the most experienced coaches on the continent.
