Thirty level two Volleyball referees are undergoing a week long course intended for upgrading their capacities to cope with changing trends of the game at Amahoro stadium. The course which is conducted by national instructor Jean- Claude Baccus is under the auspice of the International Volleyball Federation, IFVB. The local federation body, FRVB Executive Secretary, Gertrude Kubwimana said, “It takes place once every year and we want to continue training more referees as part of the plans to develop Volleyball sport in the country as well as in the region.” “Referees are needed to monitor the increasing number of matches as the local body has witnessed an increase in the number of volleyball clubs from 19 to 27,” Kubwimana said. The course is also intended to prepare and refresh referees before they take back up their roles in the forthcoming National championship scheduled to start in next month in Kigali. The referees last attended such a course last year when they were aspiring for their first level. Ends
