Rwanda U-17 women’s national handball team and hosts Tanzania were drawn in Group A alongside Djibouti and South Sudan ahead of the forthcoming Zone 5 women's youth and junior tournament of the IHF Trophy Africa. The weeklong regional handball tournament, which serves as a qualification event for the continental phase of the Women’s IHF Trophy Africa, will be staged in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from April 25-30. According to the schedule, Rwanda will play their first match against Djibouti on April 25, before facing South Sudan in the second match on April 26. They will close the qualifying campaign with game against hosts Tanzania on April 27. The team, coached by Anaclet Bagirishya, is undergoing daily training sessions in Sovu, Huye District where they are currently camping. Elsewhere, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi and Somalia will be locking horns hoping to top Group B.
