Editor,Allow me to thank Sunny Ntayombya for his great piece titled “I doubtthat I know what Rwanda, and being Rwandan means”, The New Times, February, 23. Thanks Sunny for the brilliant article. As a people, we need to realise that our history did not begin 50 years ago...it is a rich history full of men and women who formed this nation at a great sacrifice to themselves to what we found it to be. This is what should give us AGACIRO (dignity). Our token of appreciation to them should be to document any history that we have heard our old people mention to us in terms of Imigani, Ibisakuzo, etc. It might not be factual but it is our history all the same. This will ensure that the bravery of generation past and present go hand in hand with their history and this will define the Rwanda of today for future generations of Rwandans. Many thanks again Sunny.Your article got me thinking.RugambaKigali
