The presidential special envoy to the Great Lakes region, Dr. Richard Sezibera has said that East African Countries may soon come up with harmonised academic standards. While updating students of Universite Libre de Kigali (ULK), Gisenyi branch, Dr. Sezibera said that Rwanda has much to gain from EAC including standard education. “Rwandan students will have an opportunity of benefiting from East African Education which will increase job opportunities to nationals,” said Sezibera. “EAC is trying to harmonise academic papers that will be accepted and valued the same in all EAC member States. “So far an inter-university council of East Africa has been set up and it gives equal consideration to both private and public universities,” Sezibera said. Sezibera’s lecture was attended by top officials in the district including Colonel Kazungu Musoni and the Vice-rector of ULK Jean Pierre Nkurunziza.Ends
