Rwanda Energy Group (REG) volleyball is going through intensive preparations to for the 2022/2023 national volleyball league season which starts on April 21. REG, who were crowned champions the 2022/23 men’s national volleyball league, well ahead of Gisagara VC, are up for domestic dominance in Rwandan volleyball as they look to defend the title I the coming season. Club head coach Marshal Pierre Kwizera told Times Sport that they started training early with an objective to retain the league title. “We have started preparations for the new season. We want to retain the league title. we are going to African Club Championships net month but for now our focus is on the league,” he said. Starting the new season playing the league will help us continue our preparations for the African Club Championships next month, he added. Tunis will host the men's tournament from May 9-22 while the women's showpiece will take place from May 13-26. Rwanda will be represented by Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and APR who won their championships in men and women categories respectively. The Club Championship is considered as one of the most prestigious volleyball tournaments in Africa attracting the best clubs across the continent.
