As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, the Social Security Fund of Rwanda (SSFR) recently donated items worth Frw3 million to five child-headed families in Mpanga orphanage, Southern Province. The SSFR staff led by its Director General, Henry Gaperi, delivered the donations that included sugar, cooking oil, beans, soap and 10 sewing machines. We need strong and healthy generations for the future. There is need to share all these problems that you face, Gaperi said. He added that SSFR thought of donating sewing machines to boost the vocation training field that he said would in the future lead to financial independence of the survivors. He called on the beneficiaries to work hard by exploring all possible vocational avenues and sharing knowledge as a means of solving their problems. Gaperi said that SSFR would also finance trainers for six months to train the beneficiaries on how to use and maintain the sewing machines. Built by AOCM, an association that caters for Genocide orphans, the orphanage currently accommodates thirty-six children. Ends
