Lessons from Inyange heroes

Editor,We have a big lesson to learn from the students of Inyange Secondary School who are, today, remembered for resisting ethnic divisionism and for championing human rights.They were selfless and were killed for their views. The kids were patriotic and strived to promote the unity for all Rwandans.These students should always serve as a lesson to everybody. They were still young and had great expectations in life but for the sake of unity and love, they chose to sacrifice themselves for the common good of the country. They taught us that dignity and integrity of the Rwandan people and their country should always come first. Those who paid the ultimate price should rest in peace in the knowledge that what they died for has been, to a large extent, achieved. Today’s Rwanda is united more than ever. It is one of the best governed countries, not only in Africa, but the world at large. These students served as exemplary individuals who strived that all Rwandans live in harmony as one people.As we celebrate the Heroes Day, let us stay united and emulate our heroes by becoming patriotic like them and focusing on issues that will develop Rwanda and take it to greater heights.Stella TetaKigali
