The popular saying, “Work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” is something we all understand. For most of us, it is more than just a saying because it has become our reality. Rwanda is developing so first and there are opportunities to learn differently with technology. We love our laptops and enjoy all our free time as we surf the internet for hours. Not long ago, Play Stations were here and we got addicted to them. Before we knew what was happening, we had turned into couch potatoes. We spent more time indoors playing video games instead of playing with friends outside. All children are entitled to the right to play unfortunately or fortunately, technology seems to be taking that away. Games on our laptops are good but it’s equally important that we play physical games too. This also helps children to explore their talents. There is more to playing outside than just getting dirty. The playground is where children learn the best lessons in life as they imagine and test different possibilities. So next time you start playing a game, think of it not just as a leisure activity but also as a tool that helps you to tap into your inner creativity. This creativity is what enables you to build your talent. Play to keep healthy since exercise gets rid of stress. Also, learn to balance your life and make time to play outdoor games. As you do so enjoy yourself because creating, your own fun is worthwhile. Ends
