Editor, The parliamentary watchdog, Public Accounts Committee (PAC), has gone about its business briskly in scrutinising the expenditure of public funds. The Auditor General has in the past implicated several officials in mismanagement of public funds. For instance, in the 2009/10 auditor general’s report, about Rwf9.7billion was unaccounted for. For many years, government officials have been called upon to fulfill their obligations through provision of good services to the public and utilisation of public funds appropriately. Since the inception of the PAC, a lot has been done and several government officials have been summoned to explain their role in the missing funds. For that reason, we need PAC to always question such leaders and make sure that public funds are correctly used. I know this can be possible basing on President Paul Kagame’s zero tolerance and the political will of the government. Justin MukizaNyamagabe
