NORTHERN PROVINCE MUSANZE — A fifteen-year old, senior one student at Son Rise Secondary School, in Musanze district died yesterday that gave rise to claims that he was poisoned. Denis Semana, was reportedly normal until Tuesday when he complained of body pains after playing football. According to a family member, Yamin Musemakweri, the deceased died on his way to Ruhengeri hospital. Musemakweri is a brother to the deceased. Semana, an orphan and the last born in the family of five, was being sponsored by EER-Shyira Dioceses. He had emerged the second best in the last primary leaving exams at Son Rise Primary School. A sceptical brother, Musemakweri, said he was suspicious that the boy was poisoned, because he died a similar death as his other brother who died few years ago. Their father Nicodemu Semana died in 1998, while their mother Segina Mukarwema died in 2000. Upon receiving the sad news, EER-Shyira Dioceses officials asked for a post-mortem. According to Ruth Kobusinge, a Communications Officer of the Diocese, the report did not reveal the poison claims, Fellow students, parents and the staff of the Diocese turned up to offer condolences to the bereaved.Ends
