GATSIBO – Residents of Kiziguro Sector in Gatsibo District, are set to get a health centre. According to officials, the centre had been under construction for long but is due for completion soon. “We have been walking long distances to seek health services. We waited for this health centre for over three years to no avail,” said Gerard Nzeyimana, one of the residents. The district vice mayor in charge of social affairs, Esperance Uwimpuhwe, assured residents that the health centre will be completed soon. “We renewed the contract with the contractor, and I want to assure you that this health centre will be completed in a week’s time,” she said. The contractor told The New Times that the construction works delayed due to delay of funds from the district. “I started to construct this health centre in 2009 …but I think everything is now in place. We are working hard to ensure that it is completed very soon,” he assured. Ends
