AMAVUBI could play a friendly against Congo Brazzaville’s Red Devils if Ferwafa and the Congolese FA reach an understanding. Ferwafa CEO Michel Gasigwa yesterday said that a decision would be reached today. “Micho (Amavubi head coach) recommended a friendly against Congo Brazzaville and we have been talking to them for some time. If we reach an understanding, then the friendly will take place on January 28 or 29,” Gasigwa said. With just nine days to the dates reserved for friendlies by FIFA, Amavubi risk not playing any build-up games before their crucial 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria on February 29. The Super Eagles have been in camp since last month and recently played a friendly against Angola. Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi recently revealed that the team would camp either in Kenya or Tanzania to acclimatize to the East African weather. After the first leg, Amavubi will head to Nigeria for the return leg in June. The team is expected to enter camp this weekend. ostine.arinaitwe@newtimes.co.rw
