Primus LeagueIsonga 1-1 Marines ISONGA FC moved out of the Primus League relegation zone after Wednesday’s away draw with Marines. The youthful side had to come from behind after Marines midfielder Olivier Uwimana had given the hosts the lead. Faruku Ruhinda equalized 10 minutes from half time. The Inyange sponsored club had several chances to win it in the second half but could not convert their chances. Isonga, who have played three games less, are now 11th on the Primus log with five points; two clear of Nyanza and Espoir. After the match, one of the club’s assistant coaches Vincent Mashami said that a top-five finish is still arealistic target for the club. “I know we had a slow start but it’s still early days. We have picked up four points in our last two games and that it very encouraging,” he said, adding, ‘We should also not forget that we still have three games in hand.” Isonga’s next fixture is slated for next Wednesday against reigning champions APR. On top of chasing the signatures of Proline Academy pair (Andrew Buteera and Charles Tibingana), the club has also been linked with Proline striker Aziz Bizimungu Kemba. ostine.arinaitwe@newtimes.co.rw
