Business agenda 2012: Top 10 people to watch

It is expected that the year 2012 will see Rwanda instituting deeper reforms in the business landscape, while continuing with courting investors in the wake of looming Euro-zone crisis, a prospect that will be very challenging for Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the institution that will spearhead such a task. Other corporate titans, mostly in the private sector, will be taking the flak from new or old competitors within such diverse sectors such as banking, real estate or telecoms – key sectors with great potential. Fiscal policy making will be a major news item as taming inflation that has dogged other neighboring economies will be followed very closely. It, therefore, means that there will definitely be people, along with institutions they head, who will feature prominently in the business news for the new year. That being the case, it is expected that during the course of the year 2012, certain personalities will most certainly be in the thick of tackling various business challenges as the new year unfolds. Having been at the forefront of reporting and analyzing the major events of last year, The Business Times has looked at the people and institutions to watch in 2012. The Business Times is clear by putting a caveat on this list, stating here, that the list is not exhaustive.
