Call for improvement

Ntagwabira demands double effort from The Blues AFTER avoiding defeat against traditional rivals Kiyovu in their Primus league clash on Wednesday, Rayon Sports coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira has opted to improve his club’s preparations to circumvent further slip-ups. Rayon were on the verge of losing maximum points but somehow managed to conjure up a last minute equalizer in a much anticipated clash played at Amahoro national stadium, which ended in a 1-all draw. Kiyovu took the lead on 54th minute, courtesy of Djabir Mutarambirwa’s strike, and it looked to be enough but veteran striker Said Abedi Makasi had other ideas. After the game, Ntagwabira saluted his former employers, saying: “This was a tricky game for us. No matter how hard we pressed and dominated the game, they (Kiyovu) defended well and I must salute them.” “That said, we are contented with a point though. Now we have to prepare the team for not only the next game but the rest of the season if we are to realize our dream of winning the title,” added the former APR, Atraco and Kiyovu coach. The result leaves Rayon on third position with 15 points, level with Etincelles. Southern Province side Mukura marches into the New Year at the top of the Primus National Football League (PNFL), with 20 points in nine matches. Police FC are in second position with 18 points.
