EASTERN PROVINCE Gatsibo—Refugees from DR Congo camped in Nyabihekeri cell in Gatsibo district are accused of stealing from their neighbours. Area residents have said that the refugees have become a serious security threat to the neighbourhood. Residents have also alleged refugees for destroying the environment by cutting down all trees. The District executive secretary Console Urugeni said the problem of refugees was still had for the district to control. “It’s true those refugees are always caught stealing from residents but it is not yet an issue that has gone out of hand.” she said.Ends
