The Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland has reminded the world that collective responsibilities are needed to foster lasting and sustainable peace. Scotland made a call through her official Twitter account as she joins Rwandans and Friends in commemorating the victims of the 1994 Genocide against Tusti that started today, April 7. ALSO READ: Kwibuka29: UN chief urges action to prevent future atrocities Every year, on April 7, Rwandans and friends of Rwanda across the world, join hands to begin a 100-days commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in which over a million lives perished. The commemoration is aimed at paying tribute to the victims, standing with the survivors, as well as recognising the resilience of Rwandans.
