POLICE marched into the semi finals of this year’s East and Central Africa handball club championship yesterday in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. Police beat Zanzibar’s Nyuki 37-24 in their final group game. The national champions had beaten Zanzibar’s Jikiu 43-32 before losing to Cereals of Kenya 29-42 in their first two group matches. They will now play DRC’s Police in today’s semi-final. The tournament has attracted teams from eight countries, including Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, DRC, Rwanda and the hosts Tanzania. bonnie.mugabe@newtimes.co.rw
