Ha…mum cried

I am 8 years old, but since I was born I had never seen my mother cry. Last week while playing at school, I heard my friends talking about 1 April as the ‘fool’s day’. I kept it in my mind and as soon as I left school, I started thinking about a person I could fool that day. I thought about this for two good days and I decided to fool my mother so that I could see her cry. I planned to use a lie based on a snake, a snake in her bed room. I time her when she was in the bath room and shouted on top of my voice; “Mum please do not try opening the bathroom, there’s a big snake in the water pipe near the bathroom door.” Ha…..mummy! She screamed and screamed and for the first time I saw hers so frightened. She cried and cried for help but there was no body near to rescue her. Mum’s eyes were all tears. Ha…ha! I laughed and quickly run a way from her presence. She came to know that I was lying and wanted to beat but I was faster and escaped outside the house after achieving my objective, to see her cry. But I will never lie to my lovely mum again. You know I also felt bad seeing her crying. And above all lying is not a good thing to do; lying makes our friends unhappy and sad. Ends
