Rwandan traditional music singer Ruti Joel delivered his best during the ‘Intore Cyane’ concert that took place on Saturday, April 1, at Hôtel des Mille Collines. The one-man show kicked off at exact 7 pm and ended at around 8 pm, with back-to-back performances of Ruti’s hit songs including the most trending tracks on ‘Musomandera’, his debut album. As promised earlier in an interview with The New Times, Ruti created an environment through his live performance that helped revellers learn and understand more about ‘Gakondo’ music, as well as getting insights to the rich history of ancient Rwanda. “This kind of music is ours. Let’s protect it at all costs,” Ruti said during the concert, urging Rwandan music lovers to love and put Gakondo music first. From ‘Rwagasabo’, to ‘Ibihame’, ‘Cunda’, ‘Igikobwa’, ‘Cyane’ and many others, Ruti Joel delivered the best in his live performance and left revellers wanting more.
