Editor, RECENTLY, The New Times reported that local traders were complaining about corruption within the East African region, that had negatively impacted their business. In 2007, the East Africa Association of Anti Corruption Authority (EAAACA) was formed to promote the spirit of zero tolerance for corruption and encouraging regional cooperation in preventing and combating corruption but it seems since its establishment, nothing big has been accomplished to eliminate the vice. I think the regional anti -corruption authority should be handed more powers to ensure the elimination of graft once and for all. Otherwise, corruption will continue affecting the businesses in the region. Let us fight the vice collectively. Ahmed Hussein Ali Nyamirambo
