Why you should make God your number one friend

Have you ever watched a teenager having a conversation via text messaging? They hold on to their phone as if their life depends on it. They pull it out every minute to check for new texts and, if there are, everything else becomes of non-importance as they enter into the virtual world of communication. Relationships with their friends mean a lot to them, they keep in touch with their friends, and they want to know everything that is going on in their friends’ lives. They confide and trust in them. However, it is vain to depend on people as a means to find self worth. People have imperfections and if an individual decides to completely trust in an insecure, imperfect and dishonest person, then they are in for a surprise. This does not mean we should not trust people, but more importantly is trust in self and in God. Someone, whose relationship with God is strong, hardly relies on other people to evaluate their existence and self worth. At the end of the day, confidence, compassion, love and success are developed in all spheres of a person whose trust is in God. When you build your confidence in God, your self-esteem becomes stable. Prayer helps you make good decisions that lead to a great future. Sometimes we can get so obsessed with life’s little decisions and drama that we fail to see and enjoy the important things of life. Nevertheless, when you pray, you are actively inviting God into your daily life. Moreover, when all these days are summed up, happiness becomes the center of your life and there is nothing that cannot be done in this world.
