Kudos to RDB over ex-poachers’ project

Editor, I recently visited Musanze District and I was amazed by several projects aimed at helping former poachers lead a better life. A move initiated by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) in 2002, to encourage poachers to abandon thier harmful practices, has not only saved wildlife, but has also resulted in the development of communities surrounding game parks. I visited an association of former poachers known as Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village located in Kinigi and the group is doing a great job in conserving the environment in the Virunga Mountains.
