The 2023 volleyball league championship, both men and women, will commence on April 22, the volleyball governing body (FRVB) has said. According to the federation’s Secretary General, Philbert Mucyo, the championship will feature eight clubs in men’s category, and seven in the women’s fray. “The league will start on April 22 for both the women and men’s divisions,” said Mucyo. REG and APR are defending champions in men and women's categories respectively and both teams will represent Rwanda at the 2023 Africa Club Championships. REG and APR enjoyed a dominant season having both added the Taxpayers’ tournament titles and Heroes Day silverware to their trophy cabinet in their respective categories. The eight men’s clubs include APR, Forefront, Gisagara, REG, IPRC-Ngoma, IPRC-Musanze, Kirehe, Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC). Meanwhile, the women’s league will bring together APR, forefront, RRA, Kamonyi, Ruhango, IPRC-Kigali and IPRC-Huye.
