Motorcyclists resist use of headgear

NGOMARWAMAGANA- Users of motorcycle taxis, commonly known as taxi-moto, are resisting the newly introduced smart cover, a tissue placed inside a  helmet. The smart cover, launched in Eastern Province, last week, was introduced to reduce possible spread of disease through sharing of helmets. Motorcyclists who talked to The New Times yesterday claimed that passengers have rejected the device because it’s ‘too expensive’ yet the taxi-moto operators are unwilling to meet the costs.
