A dozen bid for Amavubi Job

Football journalists to play role in selection process The race to become the next Amavubi Stars head coach promises to be more tense than ever before after it was confirmed that up to 12 candidates, including two locals and 10 foreigners have shown interest in the job. Rayon Sports coach Jean Marie Ntwgabirwa and former Nyanza Fc coach Antoine Rutsindura are the locals, who have so far submitted their C.Vs. APR coach Ernest Brandts and the team’s interim coach Eric Nshimiyimana have expressed their interest but are yet to make the bids official. According to Ferwafa vice president Raoul Gisanura, a team of technical persons will be instituted next week to draw up criterions that will be used in determining the next Amavubi coach to replace Sellas Tetteh, who resigned in the wake of the team’s 5-0 home defeat against Cote d’Ivoire last month. “We (Ferwafa) will meet with the ministry of sports next week to set up a committee of experts to draw up criterions of choosing a coach. We shall also involve other stakeholders that include sports journalists so that we achieve our goal of choosing the best candidate for the national team,” Gisanura said. Some of the requirements include basics like having a Professional coaching certificate (License A), ability to speak English or French as well as having guided any team (club or country) to success. The other coaches that have submitted their candidatures apart from Ntwgabirwa and Rutsindura are; Bordoli Livio (Switzerland) Peter James Butler (British), Roberto Alejandro Rodrigo (Argentinean), Ratomir Dujkovic (Serbo-Croatian), Stewart Hall (British), Patrice Neveu (French), Dragoslav Stepanovic (Serbian), Chris Sarramagna (French), Gomes Da Rosa Didier (French), and Tomislav Obradovic (Croatian).
