A Rwandan oil dealer is in tears. All the 50.000 litres of fuel valued at Frw36 million he was transporting to Kigali was siphoned in Uganda. Robert Munyangabito, the managing director of Confiance Petroleum, a Rwandan registered transport company says the truck was emptied between Lugazi and Mukono town, 30 km, east of Kampala City. Detectives handling this case think it was a conspiracy between the truck driver and businessmen in Uganda. The driver, Rwigyeema and his turn boy Karenzi have since been arrested and charged with stealing the fuel; however the buyers are still at large. Uganda Police spokesman, Gabriel Tibayungwa said fuel siphoning cases are common with Democratic Republic of Congo and Southern Sudan bound trucks, but not Rwanda. The Mercedes Benz truck, RAB 883 E was towed from Mpigi, and it is now parked at Uganda Revenue Authority.
