Rwanda National Police football team will be looking to once again beat Burundi on Thursday at 3PM to win a gold medal in the ongoing Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Games.The hosts’ football team beat Police National du Burundi (PNB) 3-1 in the first match on Tuesday at Kigali Pele Stadium at 3PM. Goals from Muhajiri Hakizimana, Didier Mugisha and Bosco Kayitaba secured a victory for Vincent Mashami’s side as Titi Hakizimana scored consolation goals for the Burundians.A second win for Rwanda can cement a gold medal as champions in the football category.In Volleyball, Rwanda National Police also aim to maintain their perfect start to the EAPCCO Games by winning their second game when they take on Kenya at BK Arena at 6PM.Meanwhile, the men’s Basketball team will take on Tanzania at Lycee de Kigali Gymnasium kickoff at 18:00.The second day of the week-long multi-sports event saw the regional police teams competing in athletics, volleyball, boxing, netball and darts.In athletics, Rwanda National Police (RNP) qualified for the finals in men and women 1500M category after Victor Ingabire and Jeanne Gentille Uwizeyimana finished third in respective categories.Rwanda also booked a place in the finals in 100M men and 200M women.Uganda beat Tanzania 61-46 in netball group stages while Kenya Police Service (KPS) won gold in discus women as Uganda Police Force (UPF) claimed silver and bronze.In the men's category, the KPS also scooped gold and bronze medals while Tanzania won silver.In women 10000M, Kenya Police Service won gold and silver medals as Ethiopia Federal Police (EFP) came third to take home bronze.In Volleyball group stages, KPS beat Burundi National Police (PNB) 3-1.
