What became of the law on public smoking?

Editor,  What happened to the law on smoking in public places? A regulation banning smoking in public places to protect non–smokers was enacted some time back.  However, I see smokers freely and brazenly light and smoke cigarettes as we watch football in bars and the managers of some of these establishments turn a blind eye. I hope that precautions are now taken because cancer is a killer disease.
