Editor, The Minister of Labour while appearing before the Senator, last Tuesday pledged to press the taxman to reduce the taxes on teachers’ salaries to enable them retain a reasonable take home. I wish to commend the minister for the gesture. This should however not mean that the government gives up its efforts to improve teachers salaries. Reducing taxes is worthwhile, but a certain increment is needed to help teachers cope with the rising cost of living. Jimmy Assimwe teacher Kigali
