Atraco Fc, one of the favorites for this year’s national league title have landed Uganda Revenue Authority Fc prolific striker Hamis Kitagenda. Kitagenda arrived in town last week and if fit, is expected to make his league debut against Rayon Sport tomorrow at Nyamirambo stadium. Atraco head Coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira confirmed to Times Sport yesterday that Kitagenda and team mate Dan Wagaluka are the only players that his team added to their books for the reminder of the season. According to Ntagwabira, Wagaluka is expected in Kigali sometime this week.“Both Kitagenda and Wagaluka are expected to boost our striking and midfield options,” Ntagwabira said. Kitagenda, who led the scorer’s chart last season with 20 goals, joined URA from Kampala City Council FC in the January transfer window for a reported Frw1.3m deal. The duo joins fellow Ugandans already at Atraco who include Peter Kagabo, Joseph Kabagambe, Charles Kawuma and Alimansi Kadogo. Kitagenda’s move to Atraco has been agreed upon by the two clubs however, Wagaluka’s move is still in doubt as both clubs are yet to finalize on certain issues. Atraco vice president Issa Ngenzi said yesterday. ”Wagaluka’s move to our club (Atraco) is not cleared as we still have to finalize on certain issues,” Ngenzi said, failing to clarify o the exact issues he meant. Kitagenda missed URA’s 0-4 capitulation to SC Villa as he was traveling to Rwanda to start training with Atraco so as to prepare the Rwanda Premier League second round fixture against Rayon. The player, who scored for the Cranes at the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup last December with five had eight goals to his name this season but did not find his name on the score sheet for URA in the four games he featured for them. Kitagenda who is said to have cost Atraco $5000 (approximately Frw2.7m) is a legal player of Atraco after being issued an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) by the Uganda’s football body, Fufa.Ends
