Rwanda Cycling Federation (FERWACY) has unveiled routes for the maiden edition of Kivu Belt Race slated for March 26 in Rubavu District, Western Province. Kivu Belt Race was added to the long list of local races that comprise Rwanda Cycling Cup 2023, as a part of bringing cycling race close to residents in Rubavu district and Western province at large, and hence contributing to the tourism destination commonly known as 'Kivu Belt'. According to the official calendar released by FERWACY on Monday, March 20, the 7.1 kilometer race will be covered around the streets of Rubavu town. Cyclists will use the itinerary departing Auberge de Gisenyi-Peace Corner-Radio Rubavu-Koromero-Centre de Jeunes –Saint Fidele-Stipp Hotel-Bank of Kigali-Hotel Gorilla-Hill View Hotel-National Bank-Restaurant Mignano-Mostej Hotel-Marche de Gisenyi-Auberge de Gisenyi. ALSO READ: Kivu Belt Race added to 2023 Rwanda Cycling Cup calendar A total of 11 FERWACY member cycling teams have confirmed their participation at the race while five teams were invited. Ferwacy member clubs that will participate include Benediction Club, Bugesera Cycling Team, Cine Elmay, Cycling Club for All, Fly Club, Les Amis Sportifs, Karongi Vision Sports Center, Kayonza Young Stars Cycling Team, Kigali Cycling Club, Muhazi Cycling Generation and Nyabihu. Invited teams include Twin Lakes Cycling Academy, Musanze Cycling Club, Impeesa, Rukali Cycling Club and InovoTec.
