Travelers should avoid carrying large sums of cash

I read with keen interest the story about a police officer who picked close to USD 20,000 at the airport yesterday and handed it over to the owner. This comes just weeks after a British national lost USD 40,000 and got it back.While this is a sign of integrity, I am concerned by the large sums of cash that people are carrying. The owners of the cash should consider themselves very lucky. But, this should be a lesson to other people, that carrying cash is extremely dangerous.
