I have been reading complaints in The New Times in the past days about the difficult of transport passengers face in the city and it looks like up to now, nothing has been done yet. Taxis are very few on the roads, and it’s painstaking for somebody to stand on the road for two hours waiting for a taxi. We wonder how long we are going to live with this problem especially in the morning hours where one reaches work late everyday. I call upon the concerned parties to intervene. Recently, I was in a taxi and over heard a taxi driver saying that the taxis were sold outside the country because in the next few years, our country anticipates to have buses only on the roads. Sometime back, we had Japan buses which we had hoped would serve as town service commuters only to learn that they are now working on upcountry routes. When will this problem be solved? We ask the government to do something about the issue, like the Onatracom buses can help us so we need more of them. Remera
