Fina re-launches Kigali operations

Fina Bank, a regional bank targeting the small and medium enterprises’ (SMEs) market, has officially re-launched its Kigali branch. The re-launch follows recent extensive renovations, which have brought a new, look to the branch. “The transformation has been facilitated by the need to better serve Fina Bank’s growing list of customers as well as put in pace Fina Banks expansion strategy which aims at offering better services to its clientele,” a statement issued by the bank reads in part. The move is to promote SMEs in the East African regional, that seem to be neglected yet they play a vital role in economic development. Frank Griffiths, chief executive officer of Fina Bank group said within three years, the bank has proactively financed SME market in Rwanda and Kenya. “This is evident with its progress as it has registered five branches in the country and already has seven in Kenya while expecting to open a branch in Uganda by mid this year,” he said. “All these are signs of support targeting SMEs at the regional level,” Griffiths said. He revealed that visiting some of the banks clients for feed back on the bank’s service to ensure that their needs are met efficiently is the secret behind their success. Their target comes at a time when the Rwandan government is nurturing SMEs to develop. SMEs are considered a key pillar in the Rwandan Vision 2020 as it employs more than 90 per cent of the population.
