Renowned DJ duo of Kigali, Nep DJs, is set to celebrate a five year anniversary in Rwanda’s music industry in a show slated for Saturday, March 18. The duo, made up of DJ Berto and Habz, ventured into deck spinning in 2018, and have since been entertaining crowds at various events that stage in the country, and boosted the EDM and house music in Rwanda. The celebration, according to Berto, will take place at Cocobean Bar and Club and will be open to the public. “It has been an interesting journey for us, and this is just the beginning. We have a lot in store to showcase and we can’t wait,” DJ Berto told The New Times on Monday. The member of the famous duo further noted that organising a show to celebrate the first five years in the making of music, was to allow their fans and other stakeholders that pushed their career to be part of the celebration. For DJ Habz, the event will also help them launch their first single ‘Midnight’ featuring Kivumbi King which premiered on March 13. It is Nep DJs’ first song ever since they joined music five years ago. “This is a new touch we have unlocked in our music journey. We are going to be producing songs with different artistes starting from Kivumbi who featured on our recently released track. Get ready for bangers only,” Habz said, adding that there will be surprise performances from other artistes and DJs. Admission to the show is Rwf5, 000 and gates will be open by 2:00 pm.
