MISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN DEFEATED AS RWANDAN REFUGEES RETURN HOME

Rwandans, who previously lived in various countries as refugees, have continued to voluntarily return home. In one week the Ministry of Disaster management and Refugee Affairs, welcomed 130 refugees voluntarily returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The returnees attribute their decision to relatives, and friends who returned earlier and have provided accurate information regarding circumstances back home. Due to sustained misinformation and propaganda campaign by criminal networks that aim to destabilize the region, they had remained outside the country. With a true picture of where the country is today, most of them are willing and ready to return and should serve as an example to the few who may be reluctant to come home. Returning home not only offers them the human dignity and citizen rights they deserve, but also a brighter future for them and their children. The social benefits of regaining their citizen rights are enormous. They range from universal health insurance to quality education for their children. At the same time, at home they will be masters of their own destiny and participate fully in national development and choose their own leaders. It is important that the few remaining doubting Thomases get to know that the Rwanda they left behind has changed for the better. Ends
