I can compromise on wearing not so expensive clothes, but never with my handbags or shoes. I was discussing this with my two friends Patricia and Rose two weeks ago, when we were debating on what should be expensive, handbags or clothes? My friends went for clothes, I went for the handbag. For me less is more when it comes to my clothes, and they are easy to come across unlike a good shoe and handbag. All this conversation came up when I was briefing them on the latest trends in the fashion world of handbags. A handbag is a commodity which is used by women on a daily basis. Handbags are like small apartments for women. They carry all those little things that make us feel confident when outside performing our daily duties. In fact a good handbag livens up a womans personality. Personally, my handbag is my all, including my mobile office! My mother always wonders what in the world I put in my bags because they are so famously big and heavy. I can’t stop admiring and loving the colourful and beautiful handbags that have made a comeback in the fashion world. Thank goodness the era of carrying brown or black bags is long gone. Once again colour has come into fashion and hitting every street and every corner of the world. Women and young ladies alike are all glittering in their reds, blues, greens, purples and even multicoloured bags, and are looking chic! Flowered bags are also in full throttle this season and designers have not left any details behind in designing these comeback bags. Red bag When carrying a red bag, one can pair it with a pair of khaki pants and a white top that will demonstrate individuality and creativity. To accessorize, wear a necklace that is large – nowadays we have a combination of silver and pearls or gold and pearls, these look chic when well accessorized. This will create some edge to the outfit, anything too delicate will get lost in the pants and the oversized handbag. The red handbag can also be matched with a red belt or a pair of red peep toe shoes, and this will go a long into creating your own style in the fashion world. Purple bag Purple is the colour of royalty. A beautiful purple outfit makes one look divine, but then you can imagine the uniqueness of a purple handbag. Two years ago I bought a white and purple handbag and I can say the bag made eyes roll. People were looking at me like a crazy woman, how in the world do you carry a purple handbag, but now purple bags have hit the fashion streets like no other colour. Whether it’s a tote bag or a clutch bag, a purple bag is a must for every woman who knows what it means to be fashionable. Orange bag An orange handbag can go with as many outfits as possible. Just imagine wearing a chocolate brown trouser suit, with an orange camisole and an orange tote bag to match with it, ravishing I tell you! An orange bag brings out the sunshine even in the dullest of an outfit. Whether in a power skirt suit, a flowered dress or even a white linen trouser suit, an orange bag gives one an edge that you can’t find in any other colours of handbags. Whether it’s green, purple, yellow and red, colourful handbags are back big time and every woman who knows what it is to be fashionable should treat herself to one or two of these colourful handbags.
