Tarmack Kigali Parents-Kimironko road

Dear Editor, I have noticed that we have very good main roads, most of which are well maintained, constantly. No one who has ever visited Rwanda can find fault with the way our roads look, for which we thank the vigilance of our authorities. However, I cannot say the same level of vigilance is pursued with the feeder roads. These are very important roads that normally feed the city, literally, because it is where the food comes from. Also, the other town roads that bring many people to town to work or trade, if they were well-maintained, could drastically cut down on the congestion that is now becoming a common thing in our city. We have few of these, and often we motorists are obliged to make long detours because there is no other nearest way. Where there are connecting roads, like the road from Kimironko to the main road that goes to Rwamagana (past Kigali Parents School), the road is bad. Authorities do try to put murram, but it is so often, and the murram always runs off whenever it rains heavily. If this road was tarmacked, it would cut down so much the traffic that normally disturbs the Kisimenti-bound traffic, so that all people going to the eastern take this road. I hope the Kigali Masterplan includes many connecting roads in the city, otherwise going round and round, in this place that is getting congested with vehicles now, will not serve our purpose at all.
