Afford us some privacy at forex bureaus

Dear Editor, Before one goes to any country, he or she is always conscious about the security in the host country. It is true security in Rwanda is assured and this is reflected by so many things especially one moving at night without fear that he or she might be attacked by any robbers or armed people. In Rwanda one can walk out of a bank without fear of any thieves. But much as this is true, there is still a problem of privacy when one is handling financial transactions especially in the banks and forex bureaus. On several occasions I have gone to a bureau at the famous Kisementi Supermarket and what goes on is not in order. Clients line up just closely behind each other and one walks out of the place when four to five people know the amount of money you are walking away with. As if that is not enough there are some impatient and poorly behaved people who just enter the place and walk straight to the counter without minding about the time which other clients in the line have put in. And then the teller also serves them before the patient clients. Look, it’s not that even they come with lump sums of money that maybe the proprietor needs that money urgently to run business. So it is high time we take the issue of privacy when dealing with money very seriously. As a city grows also crime rate goes up. Such is what causes bank robbery and gangsters.
