A day in the life… Yoshua Ndagimana Masasu

Yoshua Ndagimana Masasu is founder and head of the Evangelical Restoration Church in Rwanda, DRC and Burundi. Below he tells us about his day at work; I wake up at 6a.m, read the bible and say a prayer. I then refresh myself as I prepare to leave for work at 7a.m. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Nyarutarama where I operate from. After registering my presence, I surf the internet a bit and finally get to the day’s schedule. I do many things and part of them is working out measures to support those infected and affected by HIV/Aids. This, among other activities, includes supporting them to start income generating activities so as to fight poverty. I therefore spend little time in office as I have to be in the field or consulting various stakeholders. I have lunch at around 1p.m and spend some time resting until 2 when I have to start the afternoon program. As part of my duties, in the afternoon I attend to people who visit our offices. I work until 6 although it may depend on the day’s program. At 6p.m, I head to Mt Kenya University where I am doing a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). At 9p.m, I head home. At that time, I ca not do anything because I feel exhausted. I therefore shower and rest until 9.30 when I have supper. I say a prayer and then go to bed at around 10p.m. Photo G.
