Dear Editor, Rwanda is known for its culture of zero tolerance to corruption. This is something that has been preached to every one in this country. Contrary to what is taught, signs indicate that corruption is instead on the rise. The recently released auditor general’s report portrayed that, about Frw5.3 billion was unaccounted for in 2006 compared Frw3.6 billion in 2005. Even if the money was spent on developmental things but the irregularities and inconsistencies indicated in awarding tenders, unveils the self interests of the concerned persons. Satisfactory reasons for not accounting for this money should be provided to the Rwandan public. Concerned citizen
