EASTERN PROVINCE RWAMAGANA — Aline Maniragena who emerged the best student at Ecole des Science Infirmieries (ESI) Rwamagana, in the recently released senor six national exams, wants to become a nurse. I look forward to joining Kigali Health Institute to study nursing, Maniragena told The New Times last week. She added: I have always felt the plight of patients; I wish I could learn how to treat the sick people. Maniragena said that during her holiday she has been sparing good time to visit the sick at a nearby health center. She scored a general average of 9.6 becoming the first at her school and the fourth country wide. Maniragena says she started schooling at seven years and studied under difficulties as a village girl. She started schooling at Kibale Primary School. While in primary five, she was transferred to Zaza Primary School where she completed after repeating primary six. She later joined senior one at a private parents’ school—Association des parents de Zaza, where she started shining. In first and second form, I used to be the first, she said, while in third form she could be among the best 10. Asked how she managed to make it in senior six, she said it was out of hard work. I read hard and therefore can vividly say that I really worked for this success, Maniragena said. She also expressed appreciation towards the school administration for instilling discipline in her life, and the teachers for all the knowledge they gave her, saying without them she could not have made it. She also praised her colleagues for the discussions they held, saying her success is partly because of group work. Her advice to students in senior six is to study hard with an objective of passing. Maniragena was born in 1986 in Nyagasozi cell, Zaza Sector in Ngoma district.Ends
