The finalists were confirmed after they finished in the top four of the tournament’s third phase games held in Kayonza District Saturday, March 4. Gakenke finished at the top of the table, despite dropping points after Saturday's 6-5 loss to Muhanga, while Ngororero, Musanze and Rutsiro completed the top four. The leaders had earlier beaten Gisagara 6-5 while Ngororero beat Muhanga 9-2 to secure second place in the standings. In other results, Musanze beat Gisagara 3-10 to go third while Rutsiro held on to keep the fourth place despite losing 3-5 to Nyanza. Boccia is a precision ball sport that is played indoors while sitting down either in a chair or a wheelchair. Globally, the sport is contested at local, national and international levels, by athletes with severe physical disabilities. Boccia was originally designed to be played by people with cerebral palsy but now includes athletes with other severe disabilities. In 1984, it became a Paralympic Sport.
